On what kind of surfaces can POLISHDE and HONED porcelain stoneware tiles be installed?
Polished and honed porcelain stoneware tiles can be installed on indoor floors and as a wall cladding in indoor and outdoor areas.
Can POLISHED and HONED porcelain stoneware tiles be installed in COMMERCIAL venues?
Yes, if the area does not require special anti-slip features.
On what kind of surfaces can COLOURED IN BODY porcelain stoneware tiles be installed?
Coloured in body porcelain stoneware tiles can be installed in residential and light-commercial destinations. Examples of light commercial venues are restaurants, showrooms, boutiques, etc.
On what kind of surfaces can WHITE BODY TILES be installed?
White body tiles can only be used as a wall cladding in indoor areas.
Can white body mosaic tiles be installed in SWIMMING POOLS and SHOWERS?
White body mosaics tiles can be installed in showers provided that the adequate inclination is present and that the ceramic material will never be completely submerged by the water.
Atlas Concorde recommends not installing white body mosaics tiles in swimming-pools. For this kind of application, other non-mosaic Atlas Concorde tiles are more suitable.
Is it possible to use GLASZED porcelain stoneware tiles for OUTDOOR flooring?
Atlas Concorde offers a wide range of outdoor finishes able to satisfy aesthetic and technical needs for this type of application.
As a general rule, the use of glazed porcelain stoneware for outdoor flooring is not recommended as (other than tiles with the GRIP finish) this type of product does not have the suitable anti-slip requirements to guarantee the safety.
Is it possible to install COLOURED IN BODY or TECHNICAL porcelain stoneware as OUTDOOR flooring?
For the application as outdoor floors, Atlas Concorde recommends products coloured in body or technical porcelain stoneware with Textured or GRIP finish that meet (except for specific laws and regulations) the R10 coefficient in compliance with DIN 51130 standard (for covered external areas) and R11 in accordance with the same standard (for not-covered external areas).
What type of porcelain stoneware tiles are recommended for large-scale architecture projects?
For large-scale projects subject with high traffic, Atlas Concorde recommends the use of technical porcelain stoneware collections or coloured in body porcelain stoneware.
Is it possible to use COLOURED IN BODY or TECHNICAL porcelain stoneware on CARRIAGEABLE surfaces?
Any type of porcelain stoneware can be suitable for carriageable surfaces provided that it is installed on a substrate planned using the “double spreading” (or “back-buttering”) technique, which means spreading the adhesive both on the substrate and on the rear of the tile surface.
This ensures that the rear side of the tile is completely wet and with no gaps between the ceramic material and the substrate, as this type of gap can lead to the tile breaking in the case of shock and/or concentrated loads.
