A Contemporary Moody Home Awards

A clean and refined look characterises the “A contemporary Moody Home” urban living project in Aventura (Florida), the winner of the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition at Coverings 2015 in the “residential” category.

Designed by the DKOR Interiors studio in Miami in 2014 and created using Atlas Concorde ceramic tiles, the project plays with large spaces, imposing shapes and vertical expanses.

The project won first prize at the 22nd Design Competition, the contest promoted by Confindustria Ceramica and ICE that rewards American interior designers and architects who contribute towards raising the awareness of a creative use of Italian ceramic tiles.

In the home, a number of Atlas Concorde top collections come to the fore in the way they enhance the pureness and dazzling character of design floors and walls.

The protagonist is Sunrock Travertino White, wood-look porcelain tiles that delicately interpret the veined micro-texture of Travertine marble.

“Clean lines, a monochromatic backdrop, contemporary furniture and just the right amount of materiality throughout was the main idea behind the design of this home. This for us was the perfect opportunity to try out some of cutting edge concepts learned during our first trip to the Italian design fair, I Saloni. The play on dimensions, depth and planes through non-traditional flooring application was the catalyst behind the design development of “A Contemporary Moody Home.
Having the trust of our clients definitely gave us the freedom to work with a sultry moody feel that is so dominant in the upcoming interior design trends while still keeping true to the light and airy contemporary feeling that is so dominant in the Miami interior design world.” (DKOR Interiors)
