Sensitech

Sensitech is the technology for highly innovative porcelain stoneware surfaces for indoors and outdoors. Manufactured by Atlas Concorde Laboratories, it features an Italian patented production method. Compared to normal anti-slip surfaces, Sensitech combines high levels of slip resistance with a greater pleasantness of touch and, as a result, significant advantages in terms of cleanability and hygiene.

Sensitech is a particularly appropriate choice for both indoors and outdoors: it can be applied in residential bathrooms, characterised by the constant presence of water and humidity, and in places such as spas, wellness centres and all other commercial and public contexts where special safety requirements are indispensable by law. Outdoors, Sensitech is particularly suitable for applications in highly slippery areas, such as swimming pool sides and certain types of water access ladders.

The traditional anti-slip surface: rough and difficult to clean

When viewed in cross-section under a microscope, normal surfaces with high anti-slip coefficients show an alternation of marked peaks and cavities. This irregularity generates friction, i.e. slip resistance, but at the same time results in a rough surface that is unpleasant to the touch and difficult to clean. Dust and dirt particles tend to nestle in cavities and are more difficult to remove than on smoother surfaces.

The Sensitech surface innovative technology is achieved by applying microparticles to the porcelain tile. These particles fill the cavities in the surface, leaving the peaks unaffected, and thus preserving the ability to generate friction. At the same time, the application makes the ceramic surface smoother and more homogeneous. Thanks to this application, it is also more pleasant to the touch and easier to clean.

Sensitech technology is applied to both indoor surfaces with R10 B coefficient and outdoor surfaces with R11 C coefficient. This allows applications in multiple types of places, indoors and outdoors, also achieving interventions with maximum project continuity. In residential settings, Sensitech is particularly suitable for bathrooms and other spaces characterised by the significant presence of water and moisture, where high slip resistance has to be guaranteed. Always indoors, Sensitech is also suitable for applications in commercial and public contexts, including stores, spas, wellness centres and all other environments where special safety requirements are demanded by law. Outdoors, Sensitech is particularly suitable for applications in highly slippery areas, such as sloping swimming pool sides and certain types of water access ladders, along with many working or industrial areas.
