Cleaning

How can I clean the Atlas Concorde Habitat porcelain stoneware washbasin?

END-OF-SITE CLEANING

The building site is considered finished when it is cleared of any tool/material deriving from the work. In order to reduce the risk of damaging the tiled surface it is necessary to protect it and avoid the presence of abrasive materials. After a few days, remove site residues with a commercial sponge such as Scotch-Brite® or with a scrubbing brush or single brush (for large surfaces). For floor coverings, use a neutral detergent diluted in warm water. For floors, use an acid detergent with a buffered action, in a variable dilution percentage depending on the type of surface (smooth or textured). It is important to protect any marble or metal inserts with adhesive tape beforehand. Then rinse thoroughly with clean warm water until all halos or residues in the interstices have been removed. If necessary, repeat the acid wash at higher concentrations except if marble or metal inserts are present. Avoid using diluted hardware acids.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

The use of a common neutral detergent diluted in water is recommended. Avoid using acidic, alkaline, waxing and/or impregnating agents and metal sponges (iron and steel sponges). In the case of heavier soiling or particularly textured surfaces, use an alkaline-based detergent and rinse after washing. For large surfaces, the use of scrubber-dryers is recommended.

EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE

In the case of dirt resistant to ordinary cleaning, we recommend the use of an appropriate cleaning agent depending on the type of dirt:

TYPE OF DIRT (resistant to ordinary maintenance)

- Charcoal, lime efflorescence, chalk, metal marks, rust, graphite, wall temperas

Use acid-based cleaning agents

- Coke, coffee, wine, beer, ice cream

Use alkaline-based cleaners

- Resins, silicone or mechanical oils, candle wax, paint

Use Solvents

- Tyres, rubber soles, suction cups

Use basic abrasive paste detergents

* Caution: acid-based products can corrode marble, granite, natural stone and metals, so avoid using them on decorations or inserts made from these materials.

The cleanability characteristics of materials vary significantly for different installation methods, conditions of use, types of surfaces and environments. Generally speaking, as the non-slip characteristics of tiles increase, so do the cleaning difficulties. The professional operator in charge of maintenance and cleaning must always carry out a preliminary empirical check (possibly on a portion of material that has not been laid) for each individual type of intervention. In the event of particularly harsh conditions of use (e.g. machine shops or environments with a strong presence of oily residues and tyre tracks), of incorrect installation or cleaning carried out improperly, Atlas Concorde declines all responsibility regarding the effectiveness of the cleaning and maintenance operations. Atlas Concorde shall not be held liable for events, damages or defects due to incorrect installation, negligent cleaning and maintenance or unsuitable choice of the type of materials installed and adhesives used with respect to the destination.
