Klimt Cairnhill Singapore

design and innovation with Atlas Plan large slabs

In District 9 of Singapore, one of the city's most prestigious districts, the Klimt Cairnhill residential complex translates ultra-luxury into a thirty-six-storey tower with 138 units. Developed by Glopeak Development, the project entrusted Atlas Plan large slabs, a brand of Atlas Concorde dedicated to large porcelain stoneware slabs, with defining the façade and the material continuity of the kitchen floors in Singapore's luxury real estate segment. Chosen to cover both the façades and kitchen floors, Calacatta Antique and Grey Stone slabs embody the perfect fusion of elegance and performance. The design of Klimt Cairnhill is inspired by the ornamental opulence of Gustav Klimt, creating a space that combines the vibrant energy of the city with the tranquillity of a private sanctuary.

‘Klimt Cairnhill is an ultra-luxury complex. Thanks to Atlas Plan's Calacatta Antique slabs, the façade immediately evokes the exclusivity and timeless elegance of Italian marble.’ Philip Tan, Development Manager at Klimt

There are three key elements to the project: • Large-format ceramic surfaces as an expression of luxury • High technical performance and unparalleled aesthetic appeal • Consistent dialogue between exterior and interior, from the façade to the kitchen floors

The choice of large Atlas Plan porcelain stoneware slabs for the façades

A distinctive feature of the project is its curved golden façade. Atlas Plan Calacatta Antique slabs, in the 162x324 cm size with a polished finish, were chosen to clad it, creating an extraordinary visual impact. Their ivory white background, sculpted with grey, beige and orange veins, gives the building a timeless elegance, while the cavity between the cladding and the structure acts as a thermal and acoustic barrier, improving energy efficiency.

‘The collaboration with Atlas ConcordePlan stems from the brand's ability to offer a range of products that are perfectly in line with our vision,’ comment the designers at Glopeak Development Pte Ltd.

Technical performance and aesthetic appeal

Its resistance to bending, atmospheric agents and temperature changes, as well as its durability over time, make porcelain stoneware the ideal solution for prestigious external façades, precisely because of its ability to combine high performance with unparalleled aesthetic appeal.

‘The large Atlas Plan slabs proved to be the ideal solution in terms of aesthetics and proportions; we chose them for both the drop-off area at the entrance and the external cladding of the emergency staircase, from the fifth floor to street level,’ commented the designers at Glopeak Development Pte Ltd.

Porcelain stoneware in dialogue between exterior and interior

The dialogue between exterior and interior continues consistently in the residential units. Inside, Grey Stone slabs (162x324 cm) with a Silk finish were chosen for the kitchen countertops, meeting the needs of contemporary living with a durable, easy-to-maintain surface and attractive design.

‘In Singapore, the trend is shifting decisively towards porcelain stoneware for worktops rather than natural stone, as this material is easier to install, simpler to maintain and more durable,’ explain the designers. Designers, Glopeak Development Pte Ltd.

In the landscape of residential towers in Singapore, Klimt Cairnhill shows how large slabs can define a continuous dialogue between the façade and the interior without compromising on performance.
