Marvel Diva - an explosion of scenic beauty

The uniqueness of the marble effect, much loved for the particularity of colours and details, finds a new aesthetic dimension that is much appreciated with the proposal of surfaces capable of emanating a strong charge of sensory energy. With the Marvel Diva collection, Atlas Concorde takes up this demand for the naturalness of marble as a sensory, tactile and visual expression with great scenographic effect. Ten new proposals of rare and precious marbles, each with a distinctive character as unique and charismatic as a diva.

The marbles in the collection are designed and manufactured with an intrinsic aesthetic power. Capable of drawing attention to themselves for the chromatic details and different textures created with a wow effect, varying from colour to colour, while always remaining protagonists of the scene. A collection suitable for furnishing commercial spaces rather than in residential contexts such as living rooms or bedrooms or kitchens, particularly in bathrooms, behind the shower or washbasin with a focus wall enriched with decorations. The names chosen for the ten proposals are themselves evocative of the colour characteristics: Ice Crystal, Taj Mahal, White Everest, Sky Stone, Precious Brown, Aqua, Baobab, Amethyst, Black Tempest, Galaxy.

We interviewed Laura Zarcone, Atlas Concorde's product manager responsible for the development of the Marvel Diva collection.

Let's talk about the genesis of Atlas Concorde's Marvel Diva collection, what was its conception? We started from the need to expand Atlas Concorde's Marvel range. We wanted to create a collection with a strong and distinctive personality, somewhat in the wake of the Marvel Gala collection launched in 2022. We imagined, therefore, to propose a product that would literally leave you speechless!

A surprising marble effect, from what point of view? We thought of marbles that would make a strong impact especially from a graphic point of view: with important veins, very transparent crystals, vivid colours.However, the collection is not limited to vivid and intense tones, there are also more subdued colours. The real challenge, in fact, was to extend the range, showing that strength and character do not only derive from bright colours, but can also emerge through more delicate shades, to achieve a complete and harmonious colour palette.

In which direction did you move? We started by selecting stones, therefore starting with the natural material. We thought of scouting for ‘wow natural stones’ to include in our range that would stand out from the offerings of our competitors. We approached stone masons in order to get to know the slabs in person. We were interested in going back to the origin of how marbles appear in nature. So, we started to select the most interesting marbles in terms of graphics and colours.

How did you continue this selection process? At first, we moved without thinking of a precise range, letting ourselves be guided by first impressions. After choosing the stones that had impressed us most, we grouped them together to see if they could represent an interesting range and what they could communicate. The first step is when the product convinces individually, the decisive test comes later, when it integrates into environments, confirming its potential on the market.

For Marvel Diva, how did this process go? After we had identified the colour range, we started to imagine the environments. We saw that the Marvel Diva marbles were versatile because they could be integrated into all environments, sometimes in total look or in combination with other effects such as the concrete look, where the slab of the Marvel Diva collection remains the protagonist. Each colour evokes different sensations, e.g. Taj Mahal and Ice Crystal are perfect for warming rooms and making them bright; White Everest and Sky Stone offer a stronger tone but with soft tones; Precious Brown and Black Tempest are enveloping with their more intense hues and are also perfect as furnishing elements; Aqua gives freshness with its jade green colour, while Galaxy gives character to spaces with its intense veining. Finally, Baobab and Amethyst embellish rooms. The former for its unmistakable blue gemstones that make it a prestigious material; the latter for its incredible crystalline texture and powder pink colour.

What makes the Marvel Diva collection particularly attractive? What makes Marvel Diva irresistibly attractive is the intensity of its vivid colours, the majesty of its graphics and the expressive power of its veins, capable of capturing the eye with the same magnetism as a diva. Each shade possesses a unique soul, a distinctive personality that allows everyone to recognise themselves in a specific marble, transforming the choice into a highly personalised experience full of creative possibilities.

Speaking of inspiration, how did you choose the name Diva for the collection? For Marvel Diva we wanted to keep the wow component in the name as well. The name Diva indicates that each marble, like a real diva, has its own personality and character. Each marble effect is unique and emerges as a protagonist. The red thread that binds the collection is precisely this uniqueness of the individuals: each marble has something to say that is different from the others.
